General Information

Wychar Labs is a Dallas based robotics team building a versatile Centaur robot that mixes the speed of wheels with the climbing ability of legs and the precision of two arms. They are moving away from the typical closed off tech world by making their hardware open source and modular, even going as far as letting you 3D print your own replacement parts if something breaks. The most interesting part of their setup is an App Store for robotics that lets you change what the robot does right from your phone. This means you could use the same machine for checking warehouse inventory in the morning and then switch it over to a security patrol mode at night just by downloading a new skill. Their whole goal is to make high end robots as adaptable and easy to customize as a standard smartphone.
